Hydrate for a sharp mind!
Water is undeniably vital for the body to carry out its normal functions. The body can’t store water so we need to take in a fresh daily supply to avoid dehydration. Water carries oxygen needed for our cells to function properly and produce energy. Drinking about 2 liters (eight 8 oz glasses) per day is a good place to start. Based on your physical activity and personal needs you will need to adjust.
For the brain, water is indispensable in every way. Water makes up 80% of the brain and is involved in chemical reactions in addition to playing a structural role. Dehydration disrupts the fluid balance in the brain and can cause brain fog, fatigue, low energy and mood changes. Just drinking a glass of water when you wake up will give your brain a hydration boost to help you get through your morning routine. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and you have added a good shot of vitamins and electrolytes first thing in the morning.
If you want to try something different, aloe vera juice is a great source of water, vitamins, and minerals. Aloe juice reduces inflammation so it’s a great way to soothe and hydrate all your insides including your brain!
